Project Objective: Provide a dynamic and dedicated campaign central hub
The Westtown School embarked on an ambitious capital campaign, Lighting the Way, aiming to raise $62 million, along with strengthening its community and advancing its mission through strategic fundraising. To support this initiative, The Virtual Window collaborated with the school to develop a dedicated microsite that seamlessly integrates with Westtown’s main website while providing a distinctive space for the campaign’s storytelling, engagement, and donor outreach.

Requirements Analysis
To ensure an optimal digital experience, The Virtual Window conducted a comprehensive requirements analysis, focusing on the best way to incorporate the campaign into Westtown’s existing web infrastructure. After evaluating different integration methods, the team recommended creating a unique section within the primary website, rather than a separate URL or subdomain. This approach allowed for a cohesive user experience while preserving the campaign’s distinct identity. Key considerations included user navigation, accessibility, and how best to present crucial information, such as impact stories, ways to give, and campaign priorities.

Design Process
The design process centered on maintaining Westtown School’s established branding while crafting a fresh and engaging visual identity for the Lighting the Way campaign. A custom video was produced to encapsulate the spirit of the initiative, supported by a thoughtfully designed layout that balanced compelling storytelling with practical fundraising tools. Extensive research guided content strategy, ensuring that critical elements—such as alumni stories, donor opportunities, and community impact—were highlighted effectively. The homepage prominently features a custom campaign logo, rich video content, social proof, and streamlined navigation to guide users to key sections, including priorities, events, ways to give, and FAQs.
